America Is Back and Trump Is Just Getting Started

President Donald J. Trump has now been in office for over a month, and he’s already been making moves to restore the country to what he believes is its rightful place as a global leader. With promises to bring about the “New Golden Age” of America, he has delivered on key goals right from the start. From securing the nation's borders to fostering economic growth, President Trump’s administration has been marked by quick action and major policy shifts. Here is a look at some of the significant achievements in his first month:  Securing Our Homeland  One of President Trump’s top priorities has been to secure the U.S. border, taking decisive steps that have had an immediate impact. He declared a national emergency at the border and sent military support to help secure the country. The measures taken to control illegal immigration have already led to a sharp decline in illegal crossings, with the U.S. Border Patrol reporting an 85% decrease in apprehensions along the southern border in the first few weeks of his presidency. This dramatic reduction reflects the administration’s stronger stance on enforcement.  In addition to the military support, President Trump re-established the "Remain in Mexico" policy, which keeps migrants in Mexico while they await asylum hearings in the U.S. The Trump administration also resumed construction of the border wall, further reinforcing the commitment to curbing illegal immigration. Furthermore, President Trump signed the Laken Riley Act, a law named after a Georgia college student murdered by an illegal immigrant, ensuring that individuals arrested for violent crimes will be detained.  Another key change was the termination of policies from the previous administration that President Trump viewed as lenient. He ended the "catch-and-release" system, which allowed individuals who were apprehended for illegal immigration to be released into the U.S. while they awaited hearings. By reinstating strict deportation measures, including the transfer of criminal immigrants to Guantanamo Bay, President Trump is signaling a no-tolerance approach toward illegal immigration.  Protecting American Workers and Economic Growth  President Trump has also focused on protecting American workers and boosting the economy. One of his first acts was to reinstate tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, aiming to protect domestic industries from unfair foreign competition. The Steel Manufacturers Association and the Aluminum Association praised this decision, noting that it would create jobs in these vital industries and encourage companies to relocate operations to the U.S.  Beyond tariffs, President Trump has secured hundreds of billions of dollars in new investments in the U.S. economy.

He announced the largest artificial intelligence infrastructure project in history, with $500 billion in planned private sector investments. In addition, countries like Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and several global companies have committed to investing in the U.S., marking a shift toward a more favorable trade environment.  Trump’s leadership has already had positive effects on the American economy. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia raised its growth forecast for the first quarter of 2025, projecting a 2.5% growth rate. At the same time, unemployment projections have decreased, indicating strong prospects for job creation.  Another notable achievement has been the rejuvenation of American manufacturing. After a meeting with President Trump, Stellantis, a major automaker, announced that it would reopen an assembly plant in Illinois, creating 1,500 new jobs. In addition, President Trump’s policies have encouraged large companies like Samsung and LG to consider moving their production facilities from Mexico to the U.S.  Global Influence and Foreign Policy  President Trump’s influence is not confined to domestic issues. On the global stage, his administration has sent a clear message about America’s role in the world. The president has made moves to ensure that foreign governments abide by U.S. laws, especially when it comes to illegal immigration. After announcing retaliatory measures against Colombia for not accepting deportation flights from the U.S., the country’s president quickly backtracked, offering the use of his personal plane to assist in deportations. In addition, El Salvador’s president pledged to accept deportees, even offering to take violent criminals currently incarcerated in the U.S.  The Trump administration has also made waves in the diplomatic world by using economic leverage to address international issues. For instance, President Trump imposed tariffs on both Mexico and Canada, leading to significant action on illegal immigration and fentanyl trafficking. The president’s hardline stance has encouraged other nations to take stronger measures against these global threats. With only a month in office, President Trump’s administration has already made significant strides toward fulfilling his promises to restore American strength both domestically and abroad. From cracking down on illegal immigration to fostering economic growth, President Trump is positioning the U.S. for what he calls a “New Golden Age.” As his administration moves forward, it remains clear that President Trump is focused on securing American interests and ensuring a prosperous future for its citizens.
